Hello and welcome to PreK and Kindergarten!  I'm so excited to start this virtual journey with you and your child. Let me share a little about myself to give you a glimpse of who I am.  I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a B.S. in Psychology and received my Master’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2006.  I have taught in Pearland ISD and Clear Creek ISD.  Before teaching, I worked with adults through MHMR and Early Childhood Interventions.

The 2020-2021 school year will start my 15th year of teaching.  Previously, I’ve taught 2nd grade (6 years total), 1st grade (2 years total) and this will be my 7th year to teach Kindergarten.  I truly love Kindergarten and I’m so excited to be teaching it again.  This will be my first year to ever teach virtually as well as begin my adventure in PreK.  I'm so excited to welcome your little ones and to be their first teacher :)

I married the love of my life, my high school sweetheart, Chris.  He played baseball for Texas A&M and in the minor league system for the Oakland A's for a couple of years.  We have three wonderful children.  Our oldest daughter, Madelyn, is a 6th grader this year at Friendswood Junior High, and throughout the week keeps me busy as a dance mom. Our only son, Jackson, is a 2nd grader at Westwood and loves baseball and all things “boys”.  My youngest daughter, Sophia, is 4 and enjoys all things with mommy at the moment-I try to cherish this phase as much as I can.  They are the JOYS of my life! We have a 6 year old miniature schnauzer, named Lincoln and a red-ear slider turtle, named Andrew Jackson, who completes our family.  Our home is often loud, energetic and busy but full of love.

Kindergarten is one of my favorite grades to teach.  I love being there the moment a child first reads a sentence, or to see a child light up with excitement in learning something new.  Kindergarten is a magical year-I’m always amazed by the end of the year with their growth-both in learning and as a child.  I’m honored to be the teacher to welcome your little one to their academic career.  It’s going to be a fantastic year and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for your child.
